Job Description:

The Wholesale team is looking for a Data Steward Executive (DSE) Liaison for the work streams. Qualified candidates must be able to manage a queue of work to meet objectives, and be self-directed, collaborative, analytical and proactive in execution and problem resolution. The DSE Liaison is responsible to

Drive Operational Excellence by establishing an effective control environment for proactively identifying data changes or shifts within the Wholesale work streams and working with stakeholder teams to understand impacts to lineage and metadata, KBEs, data controls, DQ scripts, and other data management deliverables


Execute daily validation checks during the monthly production cycle as data are moved through the data supply chain and identify, remediate or escalate issues as necessary. When needed, consult with the Senior Data Analyst to confirm actions are completed as expected.


Execute month end data quality scripts and production of Data Quality Index (DQI) dashboards for work stream


Responsible for researching assigned ad hoc questions and resolving data incidents within in the work stream


Collaborate with upstream data providers, the Data Steward Executive (DSE) network, and the Global Technology & Operations organization to facilitate and influence the resolution of data management challenges in a timely manner and escalate when necessary


Communicate and report on the health of data required by BSCM stakeholders, including the status of defects and the resolution trends to stakeholders and regulators.


Ensure ongoing alignment to Enterprise Data Management (EDM) standards, and to changing business needs and regulatory requirements


Act as the BSCM DQG representative for the Wholesale work streams in Audit, Compliance, and Regulatory exams working closely with the DSE/DDM to ensure all questions are addressed and appropriate evidence is provided.


Enterprise Role Overview:

Responsible for more complex finance activities around capital calculation, reporting and/or analysis to support the Bank's Capital Initiatives. Must have a thorough understanding of Basel III. Can work independently. May provide supervision to a small staff. Supports achievement of business goals by working on more complex activities or projects within the unit and with partners.

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on data and process analysis skills. Independently research problems, determine root causes and propose solutions.
  • Business knowledge of Wholesale characteristics and exposure data and relationship to other data on lending systems.
  • Strong SQL joins. Strong Excel pivot tables.
  • Strong Testing Test Plan Definition, Script writing, Test Execution, Analysis and Regression Testing.
  • Reconciliation of Wholesale data to the General Ledger and other definitive sources.
  • Crisp and clear communication to a variety of business and technical audiences including senior management and junior associates.
  • Bachelors degree and five or more years of experience in quantitative finance, capital modeling or reporting, risk data analysis, or IT business analysis, or three years experience if combined with a related Masters degree.


Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of SAS, Python, and Tableau.
  • Working knowledge of Bank of Americas data portals including Teradata, Netezza, and Hadoop.
  • General knowledge of financial markets and products, and Basel capital rules.
  • Proficiency with project management deliverables and effective liaison between business and technology teams.
  • Knowledge of ACBS or AFS or Loan IQ
