CONMED is seeking a Manager of Master Data Management (MDM) who will be responsible for establishing a master data vision, organization and associated set of processes. We are seeking a hands-on individual contributor who will play a key role in vendor selection, developing governance, and gaining buy-in from various stakeholders across the organization. This is a high visibility role that is crucial for the growth and advancement of our business.
The individual will be responsible for profiling data, gathering business requirements, defining data cleansing and transformation strategies. The individual will work in close partnership with cross-functional teams across the organization to develop, launch, refine, and scale master data programs and activities. This position implements processes and governance to ensure data integrity, data standards and change management. The individual will also be responsible for the integrity of master data. This role involves data creation/governance, project management, process development as well as regular audits. This role is a collaborative position with many key stakeholders of master data, including but not limited to, finance, sales, marketing, and supply chain to ensure accurate data created and consumed for decisions and other processes. This position reports to the VP of IT and will also ultimately entail managing small project teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 • Assist with or participate in the installation, configuration, administration and implementation of the MDM environment(s).
• Design and establish enterprise data models.
• Profile data from disparate enterprise ERP systems.
• Develops detailed analysis, design, construction and testing specifications ensuring technical compatibility and integration.
• Partners with customers and data owners to design and develop workflows and processes/procedures within the Master Data Repository tool(s).
• Analyzes impact of future changes in the client environment, both internal and external.
• Design, configure and support data steward user interfaces.
• Partners with customers to capture and analyze business needs and information requirements, define optimum system requirements to meet business needs and prioritize and manage new requirements.
• Partners with business MDM customers to help them translate and shape their needs into new actionable IT requirements to meet business needs and prioritize and manage new requirements.
• Follow applicable security and change management processes.
• Work closely with all levels of the organization including: presenting to and educating the business on master data issues and opportunities, communicating the impact on complex integrated business processes, and establishing the master data quality metrics and targets. 
• Work with the business unit representatives (finance, supply chain, marketing, etc.) and IT to set strategic master data direction that will enable strategy and to resolve issues with respect to master data and ensure master data aligns with overall business unit objectives. 
• Implement and improve master data policies and procedures in alignment with enterprise information management policies to focus on operational efficiencies through data quality and standardization. 
• Identify and leverage opportunities to continually improve the data quality, processes and standards for master data domains. 
• Identify reference data domains, its usage and impact to key processes, and establish a plan to govern reference data for improved quality and harmony across multiple systems and processes. 
• Provide recommendations on industry leading and best practices, services and systems used for the improvement of data quality and remediation. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve master data issues that relate to transactions affected by master data or impact customer service levels and other operational issues.

• 5 – 7 years of experience with BS or equivalent or 3 - 5 years of experience with MS or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of IT industry work experience in the following areas: Designing, configuring, maintaining and performing MDM administration and tuning activities in a medical device or life science industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other technology-related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience of master data management using industry leading MD toolsets/services
• Knowledge of ETL design and execution
• Minimum 1 year of experience with data quality and profiling
• 3+ years’ experience in master data management or enterprise data management preferably in a medical device environment
• Experience in a lead role on master data management projects 
• Good understanding of Master Data Management strategies, MDM services and capabilities, Metadata Management, Data governance and Data quality solutions. 
• Working knowledge of project management methodologies and has previously supported change management and issue management. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to quickly synthesize data and develop recommendations. 
• Hands-on experience with SQL and data profiling tools and utilities is preferred. 
• Experience working on project vision, project scope, business cases, requirements, test cases, scenarios and scripts. 
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem solving, presentation and planning skills. 
• Ability to operate with cross-functional teams (e.g. finance, sales, marketing, supply chain, etc.)
• Expertise with the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). 
• Proven ability to complete projects and achieve results in an ambiguous work environment. 
• Proven strong leadership skills within the project team and in the business community. 
• Proven ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies, and track and measure results. 
• Proven ability to build and motivate a team to achieve well communicated expectations. 
• Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations
