This is an exciting time to join Cargill's Animal Nutrition enterprise!

 

Position Purpose & Summary

 

In this position you will lead the development of data and reporting capabilities for Cargill Premix and Nutrition (CPN) U.S. The role will provide oversight and leadership in the continued development of the data architecture and actively partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve the use of data in decision making. The position will develop the data structure and create a vision for the BI organization within CPN US. The position leverages industry best practices and works with the data governance experts to drive continuous improvement data processes. This position will use their business knowledge to develop data strategies, the application of technology to business opportunities, and partnering with both business and IT. The role works with all levels of business stakeholders and IT partners to address current initiatives and future opportunities to advance the use of data and analysis for the business.

 

Principal Accountabilities

 

50% Data & BI Capability Development and Strategic Direction: Responsible for partnering with business leaders to develop value-based future state strategies for each area of the business. Developing the capability and action plans to execute against those strategies. Harness data to deliver insights through effective data management and reporting to empower the business with actionable data.

 

30% Design and Development of BI Solutions: Responsible for leading the design and development of BI solutions needed in order to provide an effective and efficient data and analysis framework that can support and transform the business. This is accomplished through detailed knowledge of data structures, data analysis techniques, and business acumen. Will guide work to utilize CAN and functional resources to effectively build and put data architecture in place.

 

20% Data Governance and Process Improvement: The role will be responsible for setting the governance and best practice standards for data, the data architecture, and front end technology used within the business. This will include all tools and processes used.

 

Note: if your preferred location is not Brookville, Ohio, and you are unable to relocate to Brookville: you would need to be willing to work in Brookville for a period of at least approximately six months (i.e. extra travel would be involved to accommodate that situation)

Required

 

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • 5+ years of relevant business experience
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders to achieve a desired outcome
  • Proven ability to consult with individuals across a broad range of experience and functional spectrums
  • Demonstrated experience in and understanding of a wide variety of data management processes and concepts. 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of change management tools/techniques to influence the business to leverage data differently
  • Ability to travel domestically 20%. If position is resides in Wayzata, MN, or Wichita, KS – travel to CPN-US HQ in Brookville, OH at least 2-3 weeks of the month for first 6 months, then 1 week per month thereafter. 

     

Preferred

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Management, MIS, Computer Science, or Statistical Analysis
  • Experience in a BI/Reporting, IT Architect or Data Analyst role
  • 7+ years of work experience applying BI solutions across areas of business
  • Expertise in data management & advanced analytics - experience in data design principles, concepts and practices
  • SQL, Alteryx or other data blending and analysis tools 
  • Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects or other BI tools 
  • SAP experience (as a user or implementation project team member)
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and identify data patterns, trends and risks
  • Knowlege of advanced analysis and visualization techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and effectively navigate the organization to identify where expertise resides
